Norms and responsibilities

 I think most people view the internet as a vast library (or shopping mall!)
 In the US we are free to read any book. I think this should be the norm of the internet also. We should be free to go to any site that we wish to within our homes. However, as a teacher I would only suggest books that were age and topic appropriate for my students. It is my responsibility to guide students similarly when using the internet in my classroom.

What an interesting comparison!  I have never thought of the internet as a huge library.  Parents and teachers need to teach the same value system that they use throughout their lives.
