After reading a few of the posts from others I have started looking at the norms and responsibilities of digital citizenship like religion. Our country has been very clear on the right to practice religion freely. A country like America is far too diverse to declare one religion for all. However, there are rules to which religions we deem worthy of practicing freely. This in itself is a restriction of some freedoms.
The internet is far more diverse than America and its religions alone. The world is made up of 10's of 1'000's of believes, peoples, cultures and religions. We must understand that in this new cyber world our own beliefs are simply that... Our own. Each country will dictate what is best for its people. Straying off the path of our own societies will and can take you to dark places that we pray our own children never encounter. This does not mean that they don't exist and now that they are a click away it is even more important that we teach our own citizens as early as possible about our core values: Kindness, respect, family, community and the value of education.
