The user right that I feel is most important in the digital world is privacy. It is up to the user to do as much as they can to protect her privacy, but all users must learn the responsibility of protecting other's privacy too. An example would be taking a picture of someone not on social media and posting it to Facebook with the person's name. It might seem harmless, but you are effectively taking away some of that person's privacy. It also isn't too much to ask that social media companies take steps to protect user information.
Free speech on the other hand is something I struggle to define my perspective on. Yes, as citizens we are given the right to free speech. I worry for my students who may sign on to twitter or really anywhere on the web and have to search through the layers of false information to find accurate information. In my mind, teaching digital citizenship has to also include a focus on the spread of inaccurate information and the consequences of sharing that information.
