Norms and responsibilities

Users should have increased and enhanced freedom to participate in the digital world without free of consequences or reprisals. While there is inherent responsibility not to cause harm or engage in activities that seek to hurt others, there is also a responsibility by others to eliminate, block or mute those aspects from their digital lives for which they do not agree with or find reprehensible. While advocating for violence is certainly not acceptable in the digital world, there should be more freedom to post or interact freely, because doing so is the basic hallmark and foundations of a democratic society. Living in fear in the digital world should be just as unacceptable as it is in the real world. communication and collaboration can be a messy process, but that process and the mess it creates should be respected. Diversity is a strength in the real world, as it should be in the digital world and the freedom to represent an authentic self should never be deterred.
