Students need to be taught (not know instinctively) that by having a digital device and access to the internet, they possess certain responsibilities as to the information that they receive. They need to learn that they have the world at their fingertips and that with the information that they receive, they then have the power to do good or, equally, do harm to others or themselves. Parents and teachers have the responsibility to be facilitators of this knowledge and to continually monitor student/child activity. It's a daunting task, but very necessary as our youngsters are often ill-equipped to handle the pressures, the information and the cyber-bullying that can occur on-line.
