Optimizing AI/ML on personal computers: who has experience to share?

I am running AI/ML projects on my personal computer, but the Granny Game CPU and RAM are overloaded,and  processing large data is very slow. I want to ask:

Is there a way to fine-tune the model to reduce the load but still maintain efficiency?

Is there a workflow or tool to help process large data more easily?

Who has used free/low-cost cloud to run AI/ML, please share your experience.
