I believe my biggest challenge to implementing the resources into my classroom would be simply knowing what is available to me, and figuring out which ones I would like to use in my classroom. Which ones would be a good fit for us.  As mentioned in the last assignment post I haven’t utilized the resources on the AEA site for many years.  During my absence, many improvements have been made and I am very excited to add them to my classroom.
Overcoming this challenge is going to be fun!  I will visit different sites and play around on them just like I will ask my students to, to help them become more familiar.  As mentioned in the last post, I look forward to learning more about the Learning Zone, American History On-Line, Learn 360, Gale,  Britannica Digital Learning, and last but definitely not least, True-Flix.  Ideally, I would like to use the History and Britannica resources to research the reading passage topics my students read.

The greatest challenge that I face in using Iowa AEA Online Resources is the fact that I'm OLD! Technology is not something that is easy for me to navigate. I'm very "old school". I'm more comfortable with using an actual hardbound dictionary that I can hold in my hands. However, my students are very comfortable with technology. They speak the language of technology, and they have no "fear" of using it. I took this course to be able to learn about resources available, and I plan to implement some of these resources immediately.

When students return from Spring Break, they will be conducting research on countries around the world. They will present their research to the class through the use of a Google Slide presentation. I am going to introduce CultureGrams to them as a source of informational text. They also will continue to use Brittanica. I plan to continue to experiment and explore the variety of resources available and implement them more each year.
