Received inappropriate digital media

I friend of mine received a text from a friend of her spouse that was sexual in nature and derogatory towards women. This angered her greatly. It was meant to be funny but was not taken as such. It made her feel disrespected as a woman, and she said she also felt dirty, belittled, and cheapened. It seemed that alcohol may have been partly to blame. My opinion is that regardless of how well you think you know someone, there are some texts you just don't send. There is some material that is best not sent in any written or documented form. What could be done differently is making it a habit to keep your phone like your keys...keep them both away from you when you drink. People do plenty of stupid and regrettable things when they drink, social media and texting doesn't have to be one of them.
