Reflection and conclusion after completing the financial literacy course

Karen Lantz
I was able to gain a few new concepts to help teach financial literacy to the junior high students.  I think a final project after completing the course would be fun and the students could gain an understanding about how they handle diversity and make decisions.

I would create a scenario for each student in the class.  Each student would have a different career and a salary to match.  They would be given scenarios along the way such as student loans are now due to start, a few had a baby or even a set of twins, everyone would need to purchase a new winter coat, hat and gloves,  someone got a new puppy that chewed up the coach and they would need to replace the couch, etc... Each student will need to have a balanced budget at the end of the week long project.

The student would have to show their work on how they handle a budget by using newspapers, ads and websites available to them on their chrome books.
