Responsibilities

Users of digital technology should be able to exercise free speech. Users should not be stifled and forced to follow what is politically correct and have to edit their opinions. However, people should always be held responsible for what they produce with technology. My rights end where your rights begin, and that is very easy to forget when being a keyboard warrior behind a screen. Other users can easily be perceived as faceless and not real humans. There is certainly a way to exercise free speech while still being responsible. Users should be responsible for their respectful interactions with other users – even in disagreement. More and more it seems that content posted online is permanent in one way or another, and users need to consider the heavy responsibility of leaving a permanent digital mark, whatever they choose to digitally produce.
