Hi, In retrospect, my trip to Spain started with a brief, quiet moment at the
San Francisco International Airport (SFO) Smoking Area. It seemed normal at the moment. All I was doing was watching the airport go by while I waited and thought. However, I now realise that it was the start of something significant. I have wonderful recollections of Spain, including cosy nights, neighbourhood streets, novel tastes, and unanticipated generosity. I also gained something more profound from it. It demonstrated to me my ability to deal with uncertainty, adjust to difficulties, and enjoy being by myself. I felt as though I had brought back more than just memories when I got home. I had found a more subdued form of self-assurance that has been with me ever since.
