Rights, Norms and Responsibilities

Sarah
I understand that everyone has the right to use social media to communicate and children are taking advantage of it. I believe it's getting out of control. We should have been teaching our children about responsibilities and the social media as young as possible. A lot of children have no fear when it comes to social media they think they can tell everything about their lives (ie family) and there will be no consequences for sharing that.  Also the kind of things I have seen posted on social medias shouldn't be allowed.  As educators we need to keep our students and our own children informed about what's expected from them and the dangers involved when they are on social media.

I agree with your post.  Students understand their rights to use digital media.  I don't know if they are aware of their responsibilities.  They also don't understand how their irresponsible actions can negatively impact another student.

Agree, not only do they need to know what their responsibilities are, they need to know how it can negatively impact their future as well as others. Once its placed on social media (internet) it can not be taken back.
