Users of technology should have specific rights when entering the digital world. A user should expect uncensored access to all available information. A user should also have the right to identify sources and authors of posted information. Mostly, a user has a right to privacy. This right has been severely abused as reported in the recent congressional hearings with Facebook executives.
When I, as a user, enter the digital world I must do so as a responsible digital citizen. I will be courteous in all my interactions with others on-line. I will be truthful and never be intentionally hurtful. I will not purposely navigate to inappropriate or illegal websites.
These rights and responsibilities are basic and reflect common sense. Unfortunately, they are abused at many levels.
