Rights and Responsibilities

Amy Block
All Students/users should have fair access with the right to use technology just as we have the right to free speech with the same limitations as you would set in "real life". If you wouldn't say it to someone in person, then you shouldn't post it. Users of digital technology should respect others' privacy and keep confidential any information shared directly with them without permission. Being responsible includes treating these privileged rights with care and caution to ensure safety. Ethical standards must be taught to students so they are equipped to handle situations and circumstances that will come up in the digital world.

I agree, Amy.  I think we need to be reminded that digital citizenship is really no different than citizenship. It's about doing the right thing whether you're in front of the person or in front of a screen.
