I am a firm believer in freedom of speech, but there is a fine line between that and bullying, which students don't seem to understand. I am always amazed at what students put on the internet that they would never say to someone's face! Then there is the idea of privacy. When I think about how much information I allow on the computer (at doctors' offices, bank accounts, even this class, etc), it concerns me about my confidentiality. There needs to be responsible people to manage these things. Although there may ultimately be hackers out there, the "good guys" need to be out there too, trying to protect the rights of people. What students need to understand is that by bullying and hacking, people lose trust, and that trust is what America is founded on!
