Teaching digital citizenship is essential for students to have positive experiences while using the Internet. Skills should be taught at home as well as school. Students have a right to use sites to enhance their learning and well as connect with classmates. But with those opportunities comes a tremendous responsibility to be a "good citizen" and not post hurtful and incorrect information. Our school district does a good job of teaching those skills and also enforcing the rules for technology use, documenting infractions and assigning consequences.
