Rights and responsibilities in the digital world

As I think about teaching Digital Literacy and how I interact with the digital world, I am often shocked with how often rights and responsibilities are confused by users. Sure, you have the RIGHT to post whatever you'd like as long as it is in agreement with the EULA of the site you are using, but you are still RESPONSIBLE for your actions and how they affect your relationships with your classmates, teachers, boss, co-workers, coaches, etc. Every behavior, even those that are only written or photographed, has an outcome and I think many of the digital natives are looking for the instant gratification that comes with an outrageous statement or photograph without thinking about it's long term consequences.
