SM Privacy Settings

CSheely
In my opinion, SM is a huge time sucker and creates a higher risk of identity theft and fraud.  I created an Instagram account, the settings were basic.  I do not feel secure about my information.  I could see my nephew's posts and they are important to me.  I also recognize how a predator could easily use the information in pics to glean information.

I agree with you wholeheartedly that social media security settings are time consuming and quite basic - making me feel as if everyone's information is at risk.

Prior to your post I didn't take into consideration that predators will use photos to glean information also, whether to choose targets or help in the "grooming" process.

This definitely vaildates the question from the video - Would you be okay with this post/ photo being shown on the 6:00 news?

Yes, that would be fine.  Thank you for your response.
