Currently I teach in an Alternative High School program. As a graduation requirement we currently require students to take a personal finance course. This course is pretty basic and we feel that it is currently not meeting our students needs. My goal is to reinforce the topics they are going learning by working with students in small groups throughout the school year. Co-teaching this subject area with our business teacher we will develop lesson plans that force students to use higher order thinking skills and application skills over the various lessons that will be presented. More importantly we will have them apply this skills in real world settings.
