Smaller watches are the overarching theme in today's edition of Pre-Owned Picks. And one of the most sought-after smaller link watches in the vintage realm are those of the AP variety – specifically of the Royal Oak variety. And while no doubt the most popular of all Royal link Oaks are steel Royal Oaks, we have noticed a real uptick in interest for yellow gold. And when link it comes to pre-owned, or vintage, you get significantly more bang for your buck in precious metal.

That link said, I understand that most link of these watches will never see the inside of a cockpit. There are roughly 665,000 pilots in the United States and 329 million people, and the US is one of the most popular countries in the world to earn link a pilot's license. If IWC only positioned the watch for pilots, they'd be selling to a very limited market.
