One of the fairly common snapchat filters shows your location. I think this is relevant because if someone recently posted a snap from somewhere other than their home, then - they're obviously not home. I think this is something that people constantly forget when posting vacation pics as well. You're basically advertising that your home is unoccupied.
I also skimmed through Snapchat's privacy policy - the app accesses your phone's contacts, camera roll, and location services. It also monitors who you are communicating with and what type of ads and videos you spend a significant amount of time watching (Facebook does the same).
I just have this vision in my head of some omnicient computer program somewhere that has on file every link I've ever clicked or ad I've ever watched or message I've ever sent, private or not.
