Here are some of the lessons I have learned:
- Social Media tools, especially Facebook, update their privacy and security setting options frequently. They default users to the loosest settings. So it's critical to review settings routinely, and adjust accordingly.
- I'm growing more cautious with age and experience: why not set tighter security and privacy? Worst case is that someone who knows me and wants to find me has to work a little harder.
- Kids are so vulnerable! They have a much lower concern for caution, and consider the warnings to apply to others, not themselves. We can't overemphasize the need to monitor, ask, discuss with young people in our care.
