I Looked at face book.
1. Remove Your Personal Information
2. Control Who Can See Your Information
3. Limit Your Audience In Facebook Privacy Settings
4. Control Tagging
5. Remove Access to Third-Party Apps
6. Opt-Out of Interest-Based Ads
7. Remove Your Activity Data (I had to do this)
8. Protect Yourself on Messenger
9. Turn on Two-Factor Authentication
I mainly use the FB platform, and I have found that the messenger option is the one that can be easily overlooked and attract scammers. I am more cautious when seeing that on my FB account. I have had to reset up my account.
I've had a close relative, edlerly, that had a hard time knowing the difference between fb messager, texting and other platforms. Easy to share the wrong information.
the biggest issue I've noticed is the lack of information/ instruction on how to navigate the settings. They seem purposefully difficult and vague, hard to understand and difficuly to follow
I have already locked my page down so that it is not public. I have also removed anything that says where I work and what I do. I need to remove my activity data for sure!
I have noticed that I need to do a periodic check on my privacy settings. I don't think that I change them, but I think that if I click on the wrong thing my settings change. I am sure FB does this on purpose. I hate that they have so much control over people's data and information. UGH.
