I looked at LinkedIn. There were several sections that were reviewed. First, I looked at how LinkedIn uses your data. It was nice that they had a written privacy policy but also had a video describing it. They covered what type of data is collected on users, how it is used, and who they might share the data with. A lot of the information focused on the profile information that you choose to include in your profile but other data, such as your posts are also subject to possible sharing.
There was quite a bit of information about the cookie policy. This is similar to what you see on other sites and you need to agree to cookies when you access the site. This information includes your IP address, operating system, location, and others logistical information.
One of the good things about the site privacy is that you can choose which data to share or to keep private. In addition, there was information on how you can delete data, change or correct data, limit or restrict the use of your data, or to access or take your data. There were online forms for data requests where you could get copies of the personal data they collect on you. I changed my settings so that only basic information is provided to the public through my profile and was able to opt out of sharing my data with advertisers and third party affiliates.
