Social Media

I set up an account with Instagram since I was least familiar with it.  There wasn't a whole lot to the privacy settings.  Since I didn't initially read the privacy statement, my account instantly went to a public sharing setting.  I discovered this by going to setting and looking at my settings.  It was really easy to set up an account without looking at all of the setting information.  That is pretty dangerous in my mind.  Thinking about how students would do the same as I did, their Instagram post and information will be readily available for anyone on Instagram to see.  I think it is important to teach and review this information to our students.  Almost all students are using some type of social media platform, so they need to truly understand how to protect themselves and their personal information while using these platforms.
