I have a Face book account. There is a Privacy check-up that will guide you through the settings on your account. You can check out who can see all of your pieces of info, posts and pictures, etc. Mine were set to friends only. I actually just now changed some of them to customized list of friends only. You can choose to hide your story from certain people and many other options. However, keep in mind that Facebook, Google are all connected and keeping data from every search you make for their algorithms to send you content, ads and more. FB surely leave a vast digital footprint.
