Social networking & internet safety

Mildred Stewart
I read some of the privacy settings for Twitter , SnapChat & Instagram. It was even more comprehensive and 'spying' than what I had figured. Yup, SnapChat maps your location and your friends (a predator could easily stalk a student). Of course if you link any account with another they both, and all their third party affiliates have ALL your information to use however they want (you gave it to them). How about Instagram (kids love to snap photos!) -- it really tracks all sorts of things you'd never imagine. Device attributes: (your battery level ! yes, really!), available storage (do they really need to know how much you have?), file names (why not just let them use all your info?!).  Device operations: your behaviors on device (was the window in the foreground or background), your mouse movements. Identifiers: (games, apps and accounts you use), Family Device Ids (so it's not just you they track - it's your whole family!). Device signals: nearby Wi-Fi access points, beacons, cell towers. (seems like tracking is on to me!). Face Recognition: what's the point of a password & all the 2 pt. verification if it's just gonna look at you & track your facial expressions too?!

These are way more than just providing enhance ad or interest information. This is even more than a Key logger program. This seems more like it could be "you" with all this information complied. There is no privacy on-line is the message youth & adults need to know!
