Hi everyone,
Long-time lurker, first-time poster here. I work with a small evaluation team spread across different time zones and wanted to start a discussion around something that doesn't get talked about enough — team communication tools for fieldwork and remote data collection.
A lot of our fieldwork happens in areas with limited internet connectivity, which makes real-time coordination genuinely tricky. We've tested a bunch of solutions over the past year and the biggest takeaway is that lightweight, low-data messaging tools make a huge difference when your team is spread out or working in low-bandwidth environments.
Would love to hear what others in the evaluation community are using — especially for:
Coordinating during community-based fieldwork
Keeping stakeholders updated without cluttering inboxes
Quick team check-ins when formal project management tools feel like overkill
We recently switched to a different approach for async communication that's been working well for our remote coordinators. [Insert your link naturally here — e.g., "One tool we found useful is [App Name] — here's where we learned more about it at
wa gbCurious what workflows others have built. Always looking to improve how our team stays in sync.
Thanks in advance!
