Student Rights/Responsibilities-Mary Hartnett

Students responsibilities include taking care of digital equipment, minding rules of online etiquette and being aware of their digital footprints and understanding the laws and ethics digital communication. Student need to respect the privacy of their fellow classmates and avoid using digital platforms to make fun of other students.
Students have the right to use the internet to learn academic subjects and grow as individuals, but not to the extent that their use violates the ethics and rules of the school district and state where they reside.

Students also need to respect the tools they use for digital communication, including computers, cell phones, tablets, gaming equipment and more.

Students should follow the guidelines, rules and restrictions when using digital devices and other technology for any academic and/or personal use.  Students should also maintain responsibilities for themselves when using any digital devices for communication whether it is on their phones, emails, or social media.  Students should be held accountable and face the consequences if they do not follow the norms and rules set forth.
