The Financial Literacy Common Core and How our teacher applies to it

As a Transitions program, there are so many things in the core that we center our lessons around.  As we prepare our young adults for everyday life, they need to do some short term and long term planning by creating budgets and practicing them.

In addition they learn to define needs vs. wants.

This pertains to: Essential Concept and/or Skill: Demonstrate financial responsibility and planning skills to achieve financial goals for a lifetime of financial health.

That said, I am in my early 50s. When was someday? Also, where was this magic future when I would suddenly have $12,000 link extra dollars hanging around? In 30 years of regular employment, such a moment had not materialized and was unlikely to do so now. It was not settled. It was anguish that is no less anguished for being utterly link ridiculous. It link was watches!
