The Importance of Exclusions Screening

I would like to begin a conversation on Exclusions screening, which is an important part of periodically verifying your workforce – which includes employees, contractors and vendors – against state and federal exclusion lists, such as the OIG exclusion list.  The main purpose for this is to verify that your organization does not inadvertently employ or contract with anyone who is excluded from any federal healthcare program.  Performing this screening regularly is an important measure to avoid substantial financial penalties, achieve compliance and maintain the integrity and reputation of your company in the healthcare industry.
