A while back as a member of a performing group, one member was let go. The parting was (at first) perceived as amicable, shortly thereafter, social media posts popped-up laced with colorful expletives and character assassination.
The individual that precipitated these actions had created a fictitious account on one social media platform, thinking that their words were being posted, anonymously. Suffice it to say when they described one of their former bandmates right down to their personal clothing and physical features, they were confronted in a very mature and professional manner.
The (unfortunate but necessary) threat of libel and slander was made, and although they tried to claim it was not them, people who know how to track digital posts were enlisted and proof was provided. This person did not do themselves any personal or professional favors, and those they tried to smear were publicly apologized to
