Thoughts on Gmail in the Classroom

Angelia Stewart
I am a para educator taking this class to earn a renewal credit for my para recertification.  I knew I was in severe need of a class which taught anything about technology and this has been such an eye-opening class for me.  Presently I barely was using Gmail through our school, I used it to receive emails from the teachers and Principal instructing me on what I should do for the day or week, and I knew how to reply to them.  But now that I have come this far in this course, I see there is so much more that I can utilize.  I think I can definitely make use of the Tasks feature in Gmail/Calendar and the Filtering of the emails to specific labels/folders is something I intend to do to help me organize the emails that I receive pertaining to specific students.  Instructions that I receive and need to keep pertaining to each of these students can be kept where I can find them easily.

I know these things may seem rather elementary compared to some of the other comments that I see posted, but we all have to start somewhere.  I hope to continue to progress to the point of using all facets of google.
