Translating Gmail

I teach in a school with a rich and diverse student body. The majority of my students are English speaking, but I also teach ELL students, and would like to better communicate with their families. This year I have Philippine, Spanish, and Marshallese speaking students. I have learned that with Gmail I am able to translate messages into other languages. I will use this tool to share information about my course and student achievement with ELL students and families. I think this will be a great opportunity to break down language barriers and encourage these families to become more involved in our school culture.  

Does the original message also send automatically, so that if the online translation quality is poor, the parent can confirm the English or use another translation system?
