I learned a valuable lesson this weekend. My battery died and I thought I'd save some money by replacing it myself. Watched a few videos, felt confident, and went for it. Long story short, I messed up the terminal connections and ended up with a bunch of error lights on my dashboard. Had to call someone to fix it anyway. After that experience, I did some reading on
comparing professional help with DIY fixes and realized that modern cars have so much electronics that it's not as simple as it used to be. The guide I found explains exactly when you can safely do it yourself and when it's better to call a pro. Wish I'd read that first. Live and learn I guess.
