Trouble finding friends on Twitter

I have only found a few people I know on Twitter. One of my friends is following other friends and have used his contacts to follow them. This will take time but my base will slowly increase.

I have a few friends which are friends of my son. I think that as I add my email contacts there will be more of my friends and associates on twitter.
