As a string teacher, there are some unique opportunities that social networking can provide. After doing a unit on contemporary black composers that were featured by Castle of our Skins in a black composer anthology challenge, I followed some of the composers that got back to us. Being able to make these kinds of connections is amazing for both my students' benefit and my professional growth.
