I teach adult learners working toward their high school equivalency tests. My age group of students ranges anywhere from 17 years and up. It is very interesting to see the perspectives on this topic in my class from my under 20 year old students and my over 40 year old students. My younger students feel comfortable putting everything and anything online, whereas my more mature students are much more cautious. I think we have the right of free speech, as long as it is not aiming for other to harm someone. I also believe we have the right to privacy of our personal information. We have the responsibility of what we put out there to the public, and we have the responsibility of maintaining the privacy of our students as well. Example: no posting negative comments about our students on social media, not "friending" students on social media, and a lot of basic common sense.
