User responsibilities

Our constitution gives us the right to free speech. However, it does not give us the right to bully, or attack someone's character, name or their well-being. It is imperative that each of us be a responsible digital user in this day and age and to teach our children and students the importance of that responsibility.

I agree with Steve's comment.  Today, many times digital technology is used to hurt people with words.   Possibly a negative comment would not be made in person, or with a phone call, but using digital technology(email or text message), feelings can be hurt with words cutting to the bone.  As educators and parents, it is our responsibility to teach civility when teaching digital technology.
