I explored my facebook account and made sure the privacy settings were set correctly. Only friends can use my email to contact me. No one can use my phone number, and I changed the setting for those who can view my friends list from "public" to "friends only. An interesting setting I noticed was that outside search engines could link to your profile unless the setting was turned to "off".
