Using Gmail in the Classroom

Jolie Crawford
I have used gmail mainly when I communicate with parents to alert them of tests or upcoming assignments.  I believe that there is also a setting where I can see when a parent opens up the e-mail so that I know that they have read it.  This way they cannot come back on me to say that they never got the e-mail.  As a coach, I can also use g-mail as a way to communicate to players when practice times are, bus times, etc.  Creating groups simplifies communication because the same message is relayed to all the students.
