The student that I work with are non verbal. I work in a classroom with children of special needs. Our kids are intergraded into a regular classroom setting through their day. Most often, which is unfortunate there is a break down in communication between classroom teachers. Most often our students will miss out on many special functions. My desire is to put in place a system so that a weekly email would go out at the beginning of each week to their homeroom teacher allowing them an opportunity to let us know what events or function will take place that week. By doing this it allows our students to build better relationships with their classmates and have the same experiences that is going on in the classroom.
By knowing this information it will allow us to communicate this with their parents as they enjoy knowing what activities their child is involved in during their school day.
