I use email in the classroom by having each of my 7th & 8th graders email one of their teachers each quarter. The email must let the teacher know that this student has checked their power school and is aware of any missing assignments and the current grade they are receiving. It is also an opportunity to schedule time to make up missing/absent work. I always have the student cc me on the email so they understand that as well.
