Using Gmail in the classroom

There are many ways to use Gmail in a classroom. It is an excellent tool for communication and collaboration between students to students and teacher to students. As part of my students morning routine, they would be responsible for checking their Gmail accounts to see the expectations for the day.  Everyday there is a journal topic which they are required to respond to and Gmail it back to the teacher. Groups of students could be in a different circle with different tasks assigned.  

Using Gmail allows a student who was sick and out of school to catch up on assignments at home using his Gmail account. This lessons the chances for miscommunications and the need for excuses.  Parents can also view homework and journal assignments on a daily basis.
