Using Gmail in your classroom

First off I would like to say how much I enjoyed reading other people's comments on this and getting even more ideas than I originally had.  There are many ways that gmail can be used in classrooms. One would be emails from the librarian when a book that has been on hold for the student is available. Office staff could use gmail to email students when calls are received from parents to relay messages, for instant of Dr appointment and pick up times. Gmail will be used between teachers and students that may be sick or on vacation regarding assignments. I believe the translation of emails to be a very much needed feature for teachers to utilize  with non English speaking parents.
