Ways to use Gmail in the classroom
1) The teacher could email a link to a google doc to students for a class group project .
2) Students could email typed papers or responses to the teacher for paperless grading (using sidebar comments).  
3) Students could chat with someone in Spain during Spanish class to practice written grammar and reading comprehension.
4) Students could use the organizational tools to develop organizational skills in a class which uses gmail a lot.  This might work well for organizing materials for a yearbook class for instance.
