What Is the Factory Reset Echo Dot Method?

Basically, the factory reset of an Echo Dot will erase all existing settings and personal preferences and will typically be done through physical buttons on the device. For the majority of Echo Dot models (2nd Gen), hold down the Microphone Off and Volume Down buttons simultaneously for about 20 seconds until the ring light turns off and then on again. For the 3rd/4th Gen Dots, the Action button needs to be used instead. Once the reset is finished, the Echo device will be in setup mode, and you will need to reconnect it through the Alexa app.
