'What if Students Made A School' Recap

dcleveland@aeapdonline.org
Thank you all for sharing your initial draft of "What if Students Made a School?". It was great reading through them and hearing you reflect on what you hear your students saying/asking for. I was interesting to read them and also see how parallel they run to some of the components of personalized learning (learner profiles, learner paths, competency-based progressions, and flexible learning environments).

You also brought up some really great comments or questions in your discussions.
How do you blend personalized learning/choice while still ensuring that students meet or exceed standards?

How do you ensure that students are safe? What kind of liability does a school district assume for students who are having real world experiences people who aren't licensed/employed by a school district?

What do you do if one students personalized learning experiences some how impede another students learning experience?

As you responded to each others' posts you did a great job of working through some of these questions. Keep asking them and throwing out ideas or resources on how to address them. Our collective brainpower will lead us to new ideas on how to personalize learning for students.

Not me accidentally discovering sprunki and now thinking I’m a certified music producer. The way these little guys make beats? UNREAL. The moment all the loops sync up is literally serotonin exploding in my brain. If you need a break from life, trust me—just open Sprunki and cook up some fire.
