asthma and allergic rhinitis (hay fever). It works by decreasing the symptoms and frequency of acute attacks. It can also be used to treat year-round allergies that cause runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, itching, or hives. This medicine is a type of leukotriene receptor antagonist and stops the activity of the chemical substance that causes allergic symptoms. It is available only with a doctor’s prescription. This medication may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or a rash. It is recommended to finish the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve, as abrupt stopping can recur the symptoms.
