blogging in the classroom

I have been working on a blog set up but out of all the activities this one seems more confusing. Maybe once I get it going with some actual students I will get it more. I started setting up a yearbook class blog. I did this because of the article I read on a teacher blogging with a class and them enjoying the feedback and interaction which would be great to have in a class like that. I know outside of class they started sharing a snapchat group and even wanted to teach me and join in but I said I didn't really have the time and my cell does not get good reception so this blog idea i think could work. The way that teacher worked with her students makes me think it would be a great place for project critique feedback from peers. We could put photos of projects and then have critique questions to give peer feedback and blog back and forth. The student of that teacher said the student liked how the quieter students felt more comfortable typing out their ideas and they then had a better understanding from those students. I could see that being a big plus for its use. I plan on giving that idea a try once I get more familiar with the blogging.
